Auditions for the Tony Award winning musical Chicago have opened this week in Amsterdam, NL for performances in March 2023 by Happily Ever After Productions. HEA Productions is an English speaking musical theatre company based in Amsterdam, created by an international team of passionate professionals. Over the past three years, HEA Productions has produced Into The Woods, Working: A Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Ordinary Days, and most recently premiered the first English production of Avenue Q in the Netherlands to sold out audiences.
Chicago is a story of murder, greed, corruption, violence, exploitation, adultery, and treachery-all those things we hold near and dear to our heart. It is jurisprudence-as-show business and trial-by-publicity. It is a tale of the sensational murderess Velma Kelly, the reigning queen of the Cook County jail, and Roxie Hart, the newest of the merry murderesses, who, of course, haven’t really committed any crime (their men had it coming). Chicago is one of the most well-known musicals in the world and is the longest running musical in Broadway history, hits like “All That Jazz”, “Cell Block Tango”, and “Razzle Dazzle”.
